About Us
History
Traditional owners used the grasslands and Merri Creek for hunting and gathering. White settlement brought farming and as Melbourne grew the land supported a dairy herd that provided milk to the city. In the early 50’s Mobil built a service station on the site to support increased traffic on the Hume Hwy. The reception building is a rework of the original “servo.” Some time in the 70’s a rudimentary caravan park was established providing mainly low cost residential accommodation.
Significant work in recent years has seen the emergence of the current 4 ½ star, CIA accredited and award winning Apollo Gardens Caravan Park. A quality Top Tourist Park and accommodation village with a unique customer service focus.
A second business, Apollo Self Storage has also been recently built on this 18 hectare site. Both businesses are owned and operated by Stephen & Sharon Lawler with fantastic help from their very able staff.
Future
There are lots of exciting plans for the future to make Apollo Gardens Caravan Park even more appealing to all who love travelling and the great outdoors and for our friends who call us home. We hope you are able to visit us regularly to watch these plans unfold.
